Born and raised in the western suburbs of Chicago, I remember being concerned how our bushes looked and picking out flowers for the planters as a child, without even realizing there was something called landscape design.

So I pursued a degree in business and spent 15 years of working in corporate marketing, but after a visit to the Lurie Gardens in Chicago, realized there were opportunities to explore in the green industry. It was then that I knew it was time to turn over a new leaf and pursue my passion for design and plants. While earning my degree in Landscape Design & Construction I won the ILCA student landscape design competition and also had the privilege of interning and working with some of the area’s most knowledgeable gardeners and designers at several local growers and nursery centers.

In 2019, I decided it was time to start Turning Leaf Landscapes. Finally having the chance to own and manage my own small business is a seed I’d been dreaming of sowing for years.
